Commission on Human Security
established in January 2001 in response to the UN Secretary-General’s call at the 2000 Millennium Summit for a world “free of want” and “free of fear.” 

Human Security Report Project (HSRP)
a useful source for research on global and regional trends in political violence.

Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS)
For nationally available statistics on Uganda, including the national census.

Office of the Prime minister (OPM)
The OPM of the government of Uganda has an overall policy and coordination function in respect to Northern Uganda peace building and recovery initiatives.

2005 Health & Mortality survey
At the peak of internal displacement in the Acholi sub-regions of Northern Uganda,  the survey by the Ministry of Health (government of Uganda) among Internally Displaced Persons in Gulu, Kitgum & Pader districts, of Northern Uganda, found that  almost 1.000 people died every week of diseases in the IDP camps.
